1. Wellness or Recreation?
If wellness is the goal, recreational cannabis isn't necessarily the right tool. Dispensary cannabis isn't your father's weed. Modern cannabis has been selectively bred and grown under highly controlled conditions, often with one overriding goal: potency.
But THC isn't synonymous with the potential therapeutic effects of cannabis. Cannabis contains many other cannabinoids with different properties and effects. Wellness products can focus on those cannabinoids while deliberately minimizing intoxication so you can remain clear-headed.

2. Is CBD Legal in Idaho?
Yes. CBD and other hemp-derived products are legal in Idaho when they meet the state's THC requirements but Idaho's strict rules around hemp and cannabis have confused much of the industry.
We review manufacturing practices and independent lab reports, then conduct confirmatory testing through the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food laboratory to verify that the products we carry meet Idaho's requirements.
Ironically, Idaho's rules don't necessarily mean you need to drive to Oregon for a better selection. Oregon's dispensary regulations prevent dispensaries from carrying many CBD wellness products. 3. Does CBD Require THC to Activate?
No. There is no good evidence that THC is required to “activate” CBD or other cannabinoids.
The entourage effect is the hypothesis that compounds found in cannabis can interact and modify one another's effects. Those interactions can potentially be additive, synergistic, or antagonistic. It does not mean CBD requires THC to work, despite the way the term is often used in cannabis marketing.
4. Is Pet CBD Legal in Idaho?
Yes. THC-free CBD products for pets can be legal in Idaho, although Idaho's treatment of animal products has caused considerable confusion.
The Idaho Department of Agriculture issued guidance several years ago that led many businesses and consumers to believe pet CBD had been banned entirely but this isn't true at all. Where to Buy CBD in Boise
CBD can be surprisingly hard to find in Boise. Yelp's top CBD store results are closed, Google Maps lists stores that have never carried CBD alongside businesses that closed years ago, and Leafly is completely useless.
Searching the web isn't necessarily better. Some prominent results are websites with “local” pages for Boise and surrounding cities despite having no physical presence in Idaho. Worse yet, these websites position themselves as having expertise on Idaho's CBD laws while advertising products that are illegal to sell or possess in Idaho. This leaves some customers unaware that what they are ordering could cause legal issues for them.

I knew many of the owners and watched the local CBD market change considerably over the years. So I created a list of Boise stores that are actually still open and selling CBD. There aren't many left.
Viable Alternatives — A local kratom shop with a small CBD selection. If you're shopping there, Wyld is the brand we'd recommend.
Bark n Purr — A local option for pet CBD. Prices are relatively high, but Super Snouts publishes its product testing, making it the brand we'd recommend there based on our initial review.
Boise Co-op — Carries Wyld and locally made Happy Valley Goodness. Both are relatively expensive options, but they're credible products based on my review of the companies.

Stop Driving to Ontario for CBD
If you're looking for recreational marijuana, Ontario has dispensaries. If you're looking for CBD wellness products, the better selection may actually be on this side of the border.
Oregon dispensaries overwhelmingly cater to the high-THC recreational market, while Oregon's hemp rules limit what CBD stores can carry. The result is a surprisingly small selection for someone shopping specifically for wellness.
