New to CBD Capsules?
Capsules and softgels are one of the simplest ways to use CBD. Here are a few resources to help you understand dosing, compare product types, and choose the right formula.
How Much CBD Should I Take?
There is no universal CBD dose, and more isn't always better. In our experience, most customers take between 50 and 300 mg per day, with many clustering around 100 mg.
Our dosing guide explains how CBD has been studied, what we've learned from real-world use, and a simple approach for finding a meaningful dose for you.

Capsules, Gummies, or Tinctures?
All three deliver cannabinoids orally. The biggest differences are convenience, ingredients, and control over serving size.
- Capsules are simple. There's no measuring, no flavor, and no added sugar. Take the number of capsules you need with food just like any other supplement.
- Every serving is pre-measured. Unlike tinctures, there's no dropper to measure. Unlike gummies, there's no need to cut anything into pieces. If a capsule contains 50 mg of CBD, one is 50 mg and two are 100 mg.
- Our capsules offer exceptional value. The formulas we carry provide 100–250 mg of cannabinoids per capsule, with 6,000–7,500 mg per container. That's substantially more cannabinoids for your money than the common industry standard of around 30 mg per capsule and 900 mg per container.
The tradeoff is flexibility. Tinctures make small adjustments to serving size much easier, while gummies offer flavors and more complex ingredient combinations. Choose the format you're most likely to use consistently.

What's the Difference Between Capsules and Softgels?
Both provide a pre-measured amount of cannabinoids inside a shell. The primary difference is how they're made.
Softgels contain a liquid oil inside a soft shell, while traditional capsules can contain oils, powders, or other ingredients inside a two-piece capsule. For most customers, the practical experience is very similar: a simple, pre-measured serving without flavor or measuring.
Why Do Capsules Take Longer to Work?
Like gummies, capsules have to travel through the digestive system before their cannabinoids are absorbed. Food intake, metabolism, serving size, and the individual can all affect how quickly you notice them.
We recommend taking CBD capsules with food, like any other vitamin, to improve absorption.

What Does THC-Free Actually Mean?
“THC-free” isn't as straightforward as it sounds. Laboratory tests aren't infinitely precise, and even THC-free CBD products can carry some risk when drug testing is a concern.
All products carried by Herbal Edge are independently tested, with additional confirmatory testing performed at a lab of our choosing so you can better understand what you're getting.
